Missy owns Avampato Counseling LLC and operates her practice in Washington, Missouri. Missy attended school at Central Methodist University and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Clinical Counseling. Missy completed her eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) training with Trauma Recovery/Humanitarian Assistance Program.

COMMUNITY
Missy lives, works, and volunteers in Franklin County, Missouri. She is the founder and moderator of a free book club (franklin reads) that invites her community to explore, understand, and heal from trauma. In addition, Missy runs a free grief support group, Survivors of Suicide Loss each month for adults that have lost a loved one to suicide.

PASSION AND MOTIVATION
Missy is a survivor of suicide, meaning she has lost a loved one by suicide. In 2005 Missy's older brother tragically took his life. Michael Avampato's life was cut too short, and he remains her driving force for preventing others from taking their life and helping those heal that have lost a loved one to suicide.
